Placing 'objects' on Particle Emitters
MAP
Written by Sir Lotsa
Here is a panther that i found doing a GOOGLE search;

I then cut out the Panther from the background using Photoshop7 and saved it on a transparent background as a 32-bit.tg

Then i placed a particle emitter and changed the properties (ctrl+P) and swapped the default texture for the new panther.tga and edited the properties like so...

i finally ended up with this...

The panther will always appear to be looking at you and look like its following your every move lol.

I sussed this idea firstly in my RFU map Halloween...once i found that this really worked i used this method on a few different things mainly for a very large face in the sky and for some pretty neat looking pumpkins lol...also in one of my recent maps DM Floyd i used this method for the flying pig abve Battersea Power Station.

This is a very effective way to use normally "difficult to make" brushes etc but has a slight downside too i'm afraid. If you make the particle emitter small everything tends to remain good...however...when you are requiring something of quite a size, to look realistic the emitter size would have to be increased accordingly. When you do this you will find that when you approach the emitter sometimes the "panther" will disappear slightly into the ground or maybe part way through a wall etc therefore not looking good AT ALL! So to combat this you would be wise to place the emitters sensibly and out of the (PLAYABLE AREA) in your map so players cant get too close and see the downside of this rather cool trick and everything looks as it should.
